Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) made amends to the laws of transfers and allowing each club to sign maximum 10 foreign players and even allowing the Club to start all of them in their first eleven too.
Emmanuel Okwi, Amissi Tambwe and Haruna Niyonzima, being foreign players also made history by being players with the most championship medals than any other player in the premier league.
Haruna Niyonzima took 6 medals this year, 4 with Yanga SC and 2 with Simba SC.
He took 5 premier league medals consecutively from seasons 2014 to 2017 with Yanga SC and in 2017 with Simba SC followed by the 2018/19 Premier League champions medal. Leaving a mark as the first foreign player to do so.
Amissi Tambwe took the Premier League championship in three consecutive seasons with Yanga SC from 2014 to 2016 and last time in 2016/17.
Emmanuel Okwi also has his record in the Tanzania Premier League, taking the medal four times.
He took the medal in 2009/10, 2011/12, 2017/18 and 2018/19 all of his medals he won them with Simba SC.
Haruna Niyonzima was interviewed about his premier league records as foreign player who won more medals than any other he said,
“Am living nicely here ‘Tanzania’ am proud for the success I got, I can not say am the best than others, it’s God’s will, back in Yanga Sc I was playing hard to help my club”
“Am thankful because I had best career in Yanga Sc, but life is the journey, i joined Simba Sc, was stuck with injuries”
“I am luck, am fine now, enjoying my football and am more than proud to win again and make it five Premier League champions titles”
Next Premier League season starts in August, if Simba wins the title again, it will be a six premier league title for Haruna Niyonzima and five for Okwi if they will be playing for Simba Sc next season.
