No party for Liverpool as they lose to City, Sheffield defeat Spurs

Despite being crowned champions of the 2019/20 English Premier League (EPL) season with games remaining, Liverpool has already gone for the honeymoon as they failed to shine against Manchester City on Thursday when they lost 4-0 at Etihad stadium.

Kelvin De Bruyne opened the scoring from the penalty in the 25th minute before Sterling and Foden made matters worse in the first half. In the second half, Liverpool failed to even reduce the damage through the front line comprised of Senegalese international Sadio Mane and Egyptian international Mohammad Salah and saw things going worse as Oxlade-Chamberlain put the ball in his own net for the citizens to win 4-0.

Manchester City has cemented their spot on 2nd position as they have 66 points from 32 games while Liverpool with the title already in the bag has 86 points from 32 games.

On the same night, Sheffield United was too good for Jose Mourinho and his Tottenham Hotspur’s side as they won 3-1 at the Bramall Lane. Berge scored in the first half for the home side to lead at half time before Mousset and McBurnie scored in the second half to win the match for Sheffield. Spurs who had Ivory coast international Sergio Aurier in the starting line up scored a consolation goal through Harry Kane.

Sheffield United are on 7th position with 47 points from 32 games while Tottenham Hotspurs is on 9th position with 45 points from the same number of games.
