Liverpool football club is high flying in the English Premier League (EPL) as it continues with its fine undefeated form in the 2019/20 season. On Monday, the Reds came from behind to defeatig West Ham united 3-2 at the Anfield stadium with their supporters singing the usual “you will never walk alone” anthem.
George Wijnaldum opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 9th minute after receiving an inviting ball from Alexander-Anord before Idrissa Diop equalised for the relegation bound West Ham united three minutes later for the two teams to equal powers at half time.
In the second half, the visitors took the lead and silenced Anfield in the 54th minute when P.Fornals shot his first goal.
As they searched for a winner, Liverpool coach Jurgen Kloop substituted Guinea international Naby Keita who started the match for Oxlade-Chamberlain and sparkled the midfield for the reds to attack in numbers. In the 68th minute, Egyptian Mohammad Salah equalised for the home side after West Ham goalkeeper Fabianski let the ball pass through his legs.
Cameroonian Joe Matip was given few minutes to solidify the reds defence as he replaced the match winner, Mane in extra time of the game.
Sadio Mane from Senegal was the hero again on the night as he scored the winning goal for Liverpool 9 minutes to full time, to ensure the reds maintain their unbeaten run this season .
Both Salah and Mane are chasing for the golden boot they both shared last season as Salah has 15 goals while Mane has 13 goals and the current top goal scorers, Jamie Vardy and Gabonese Pierre Emerick Aubameyang have 17 goals each.
