Former Nyasa Big Bullets football club defender George Nyirenda has joined Blantyre based team, Bangwe TNM super league side Ntopwa football club on a seven months deal.

Ntopwa football club owner and technical director Isaac Jomo Osman has confirmed completing a deal with the former Azam Tigers defender who also played professional football for CAPS united of Zimbabwe and Tigers fc in Namibia.
“Every year at Ntopwa we choose to have one experienced player and this time around we have decided to bring George Nyirenda who has replaced Rafiq Namwera who was with us last season but has left for Kamuzu Barracks football club. We feel Nyirenda’s experience and his style of playing will help the young boys we have as we try to establish ourselves in the super league,” Osman said.

Osman also highlighted the club is in talks to go into partnership with Ecobank as they try to run the affairs of the team in a professional way.
“During our first year in the super league we learnt a lot of things and we are still learning on how to run the club professionally. We are looking for potential partners. Right now we are at an advanced stage with Ecobank to partner with the club which should benefit both parties. Among other things, the club has opened an account with the bank as well as the team opening accounts with the bank. The team will also be a tool to edge people to open accounts with Ecobank,” he said.
