Defender George Nyirenda says he was heart broken on Saturday after his Namibian team Tigers Sports Club lost 2-0 to African Stars in the finals of the 2019 Standard bank top 8 cup.
Nyirenda who has been one of the influential players since joining Tigers Sports Club in February this year says it’s every players wish to win trophies but lossing is part of the game of football.
“Honestly I felt heart broken that we lost in the finals of the Standard bank top 8 cup as we prepared well for that much but in the game of football you expect winning or losing despite every player wanting to be on the winning side.
“We don’t blame anyone for the loss but we lost as a team and that our friends were luck to utilise the chances they created “, Nyirenda said.
Nyirenda added that the loss should not affect the team in the remain games of the Namibian Super League .
“We have a few games remaining to finish the season and the loss in the finals should not affect us in terms of preparation and how we perform on the ground but instead we still work hard to finish on a good position this season.
Tigers Sports Club is on position 9 in the Namibian Super League with 29 points from 23 games.
