2012 (Malawi) – The IMF again pressured impoverished Malawi to devalue its currency, which is trading on the black market at nearly double the official exchange rate.

1995 (TANZANIA) –  Tens of thousands of Rwandan refugees, fleeing violence in Burundi, began a two-day trek to sanctuary in Tanzania.

1999 (TANZANIA) –  Tanzania arrested a former Rwanda army officer suspected in the killing of 10 Belgian peacekeepers in 1994. The officer was freed Mar 29 by a UN war crimes tribunal.

1979 – Anthony Ormerod is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Anthony Ormerod started his career at Middlesbrough and scored on his debut in a 2-2 draw against Bradford City in the First Division on 13 September 1997.
