2006 (DRC) – In eastern Congo UN troops killed several militia fighters during heavy clashes after a joint operation with the government army was aborted by a mutiny among its soldiers.

1624 – Class-bassed legislation is passed in the colony of Virginia, exempting the upper class from punishment by whipping.
