Opposition Party’s Chairperson reports at Osterbay police station


The chair person of CHAUMA (Chama Cha Umma) Hashim Rungwe has reported to Osterbay police station as to  response of  the police commanding police station orders, Mr Mussa Taibu.

He arrived at 4:10am 3rd June Monday in a white Muslim coat accompanied by a fellow to the Taibu’s office.

The chairperson has reported as ordered on Sunday by the commander to do so.

On behalf of the Secretariats of the corporation of eight opposition parties, Eugene Kabendera reported that the police arrived at CHAUMA offices in Dar es Salaam and explained that Rungwe was supposed to report to the Taibu’s office.

In that meeting, the leaders of those parties declared that they would not participate in the approaching local governments elections in 32 wards expected to take place in June 15th 2019.

This is because the elections will be led by the district and municipal directors which is  against the high Court’s decision.
