Tay Grin has been bringing international artists like Brick and Lace, Ice Prince Sean Kingston and many more to perform live under his label. That has been the most famed achievement of his business venture.

In the year 2012, Tay Grin got an award of Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts (BEFFTA) for best International Act. He again won the BEFFTA Star Award in the music category in 2016. In the same year 2016, Kalilani also won the WatsUp TV Africa Music Video Awards, Best Traditional Video Award, with the best video ‘Chipapapa’ featuring 2baba.
Kalilani further performed at the Lake of Stars Music Festival. He holds both local and urban awards like the Nyasa music awards. In all this, he was recognised as the best live act, best video and male artist until when he was awarded in 2018 as the Urban Music people (UMP) for most fashionable celebrity.

Kalilani announced in September 2018 his intention to contest 2019 tripartite elections on the 21st May as a parliamentary seat in Lilongwe City Centre, Malawi.

  1. Produced by Sonye, the track has been well-received throughout the country and is doing well on local radio stations. For example the song received praise from renowned Malawian radio and club DJ Joy Nathu. “It brings out the musician in Tay Grin, who does not rap but sings on the song – and he sings better than most people think he can, which shows his maturity in music,” said the DJ. “The collabo works well too because Sonye and Orezi both did good work on their verses. I think it’s tough to say who sang better than who because all three sang well.
