His excellence the state president Professor Arthur Peter Muthalika will on Thursday 11 June launch the commencement of construction of stadiums for Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers football clubs in Blantyre.
In 2019, Parliament approved a k1.6 billion budget allocated to the construction of the two stadiums after president Peter Muthalika had made the pledge to the two rival clubs.
According to spokesperson in the ministry of sports, youth and culture Simeon Mvundula, the day will be the climax to fulfill the promise the president made to the two big clubs in the country.
“It has pleased the state president professor Arthur Peter Muthalika to let the commencement of construction works for Bullets and Wanderers which will happen on Thursday where the two construction companies which were identified will be given a go ahead to start working on the sites”, he said.
Two Chinese construction companies, Anhui Foreign Economic construction (group) company and China Civil Engeneering company are to construct the stadiums in Zingwangwa and Soche in Blantyre for Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers football clubs respectively.
