Everton football club has started the 2020/21 English premier league season on a high as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday 13th September 2020 in a match Everton new signing James Rodriguez impressed in his debut match in the league.
From the start of the match, Everton looked a better side than the home side as they created a number of scoring opportunities through premier league debutant James Rodrigues but striker Richardson failed to convert them into goals that no goal was registered by half time.
In the second half, the visitors kept pressing to break the dead rock until the 55th minute when Calvert-Lewin headed home a Digne free-kick and the goal proved to be the match-winner for Everton as they won the match 1-0.
At the Hawthorns Stadium, Jamie Vardy converted 2 penalties as Leicester City defeated Wes Brom 3-0 in a match the Foxes scored all the goals in the second half after struggling in the first half.
Leicester City’s new signing Castagne scored on his debut as he saw his powerful bullet header kiss the net before a brace from Vardy with all the goals from the sport sealed a win for Brendan Rodgers.
The defeat for Wes Brom means all the three promoted sides (Leeds United, Fulham and Wes Brom) have lost their opening games in the 2020/21 season.
