Salary cut angers Bullets players

Nyasa Big Bullets football team players and officials are angry after their employer, Nyasa Manufacturing Company (NMC) has deducted K40 000 from each one of them from their June salaries without informing them.

According to reports from different players from the club, the 2019 TNM super league champions have made the decision after the players received their COVID-19 relief packages from Football Association of Malawi (FAM) for them to take home the usual salaries they receive every month.

Both Bullets administrative officer Albert Chigoga and Chief Executive Officer Escort Chinula refused to comment on the matter.

Football Players Association (FPA) chairman Jimmy Zakazaka has said, “We will investigate into the matter to see what has really happened and what has made Bullets to cut the players salaries. We will then seek intervention from relevant authorities to help and this should also be a wake-up call to players who have not yet joined the association which is needed when such kind of things happen.”
