Chief Executive Officer of the Vodacom Premier League defending Champions for Simba Sports Club stated the club plans to bring back foreign players after the League break due to Corona Virus. Mr Senzo has spoken on how they will bring those players back in the country as some of them did not leave the country.
Senzo said the players left the country before the announcement from Tanzania Football Federation and the government to suspend the league. They were called for their national teams. He insisted they will make sure they quarantine those players for 14 days after arriving in the country before joining the club.
“About our players who are outside the country, before our two matches against Azam Football Club and Yanga Sports Club, we received official letters from their countries. They were needed to join their National team camps for the African Cup Of Nation ( AFCON ) qualifications.
“We received letters from Kenya, Zambia, Rwanda, Mozambique and Sudan so we had to let them go unless if it was a problem with FIFA.”
“By then, there was no official statement from the government and football federation about Corona. As we all know now, for anyone who comes from abroad must be quarantined. Then we are looking for the best way to have all the process done before they join the team,” said Simba Sports Club Chief Executive Officer Mr Senzo.
