Son Heung-Min shine for Spurs as Liverpool destroy Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur football club registered their first win of the 2020/21 English premier league season as they defeated Southampton 5-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday in a match Korean international Son Heung-Min scored four goals.

Spurs need nothing but a win from the match after losing their first game of the season last week against Everton and Mourinho and his men were put under pressure in the 32nd minute when Danny Ings scored for Southampton to lead but just before the break Son equalised for Spurs after receiving a thorough ball from Harry Kane.

Three minutes into the second half, Son scored his second goal of the afternoon from a Kane set up before the two combine well again for the Korean Son Heung-Min to score 4 goals in the match and set a record for being a combination to have scored 4 goals since 2013.

Harry Kane netted the 5th goal for Spurs before Ings completed his brace from the penalty spot for Mourinho and his men to pocket maximum points from the match.

At the St James’ Park, Brighton were too good for Newcastle united as they won the match 3-0 in a match Maupay scored a brace in the first 7 minutes before Connolly scored the third goal for the visitors to win the game.

At the Stamford Bridge, Liverpool defeated 10 men Chealse 2-0 as they seek to defend the English premier league title they won last season.

Liverpool were quick to settle in the match as they pressurised the home side with the attacking pace of Saido Mane which resulted in Chealse reduced to 10 men just before half time when Christensen was shown a red card after a foul on Mane.

In the second half, the visitors took advantage of Chelsea and with just 5 minutes of play Mane scored for Liverpool when he headed home a Firmino cross before completing his brace 4 minutes later when Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa gifted Mane a ball which he made no mistake but to put into the net.

With time ticking on the clock, Jorginho failed to reduce the damage for Chealse when he saw his penalty spot saved by Alisson Becker after Werner was brought down in the box by Thiago Alcantara for Liverpool to win the match 2-0.
