The 2019 TNM Super League season has started with fireworks as all the three big teams Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club, Be Forward Wanderers Football Club and Silver Strikers Football Club register wins in their first games of the season.
Nyasa Big Bullets made sure they start their title defence with a win as they defeated Kasungu based TN Stars Football Club 4-0 in the launch match of the campaign at the Kasungu Stadium.
Playing at home TN Stars failed to utilise home ground advantage as the people’s team fired at them from all angles that in the 15th minute Gomezgani Chirwa scored for Bullets before Patrick Phiri doubled the lead in the 31st minute to make it 2-0 at half time.
As if the goals were not enough for Bullets to collect maximum points , veteran striker Chiukepo Msowoya scored a brace in the 68th and 90+2 minutes to seal the win for Nyasa Big Bullets.
Speaking after the match, Nyasa Big Bullets coach Calisto Pasuwa said it feels good starting the season with a win.
“It is a good thing to start the title defence with a win and the boys played according to the instructions and with the kind of performance displayed today am happy but we need not to relax as teams will come hard on us “, Pasuwa said.
His opposite number Meke Mwase coach for TN Stars Football Club accepted defeat to the people’s team.
“We lost concentration and we didn’t how to properly mark and clear the lines at the back and my boys gave a bit of respect to Bullets players.
“The defence was shaky as we didn’t expect to use the kind of players we used today in defence but due to other reasons we failed to feature some of our players “, said Mwase.
In other games on the day Be Forward Wanderers Football Club defeated MZUNI Football Club by 5 goals to 0 at the Kamuzu Stadium with new signing Babatunde Adepoju and Harry Nyirenda each scoring a brace before Zicco Mkanda scoring the 5th goal.
