TN stars have lost 2-1 in the hands of Silver Strikers in a TNM super league match played at the Kasungu stadium on Sunday.
Stars settled quickly in the game and pressurised the central bankers from kick off. Toneck Viyuyi, Stain Davie and Patrick Fiya proved too good on the afternoon but Brighton Munthali rescued the visitors.
In the 25th minute the central bankers were forced to introduce Green Harawa for the injured Thuso Paipi. Five minutes later, Michael Teteh came to scoring for Silver but Stars goalkeeper Blackson Kotei was equal to the task.
The home side dominance paid off in the 34th minute when Mabvuto Chipolopolo scored for stars to lead at the break.
The 2019 Airtel top 8 winners came a changed side in the second half as they equalised just after the break through Michael Teteh. Seven minutes later, Khuda Muyawa put the visitors in front from a penalty after Stars defender handled in the box.
Despite the home side making a number of changes, stars failed to equalise as they were too wasteful in front of goal.
After full time Silver Strikers pocketed three points to the excitement of team manager Itaye Nundwe.
“TN Stars gave us a good game as they came hard on us but am happy we won the game. We started with a casual approach but in the second half the boys came into the game and scored the goals”, he said.
On the other hand Stars technical director Mike Banda blames the referee for the loss.
“We played beautiful football in the first half and managed to score. In the second half the referee let us down a thing that took my boys out of the game” Banda said.
