Kasungu based football club, TN Stars, on Friday 28th February recognised some of it’s players who were outstanding for the club during the 2019 season as it played in the TNM super league, FISD cup as well as participating in the prestigious Airtel top 8 for the first time.
At an awards gala held at Kasungu Inn to motivate it’s players ahead of the 2020 season to kick off on 21 March, Blessings Joseph received the top most prize and went home with his pockets full as he received K50,000 for being named the most disciplined player during last season.
Stain Davie, who scored vital goals for the Stars last season and finished as the team’s top goal scorer with 13 goals received k30,000, five thousands more to the amount of money China Chirwa received for being named second top goal scorer.
On the night other awards went to Ghanaian goalkeeper Blackson Kotei who received k30,000 for being the best goalkeeper and Mike Milanzi who went home with k25,000 after being named the most improved player of the 2019 season.
The team’s technical panel led by former Malawi national football team goalkeeper Philip Nyasulu had their share on the night when Jimmy Kambatuwa was named the best technical team member while Mr Meleka who is coach for the club’s academy received the honours for upcoming coach. Mr Chifuniro Nyirenda, one of the administrators of the club was voted as the best management team member and the three technical personnel went home with k30,000 each.
