Super League of Malawi (SULOM) is expected to hold it’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lilongwe towards the end of August 2020 at a venue to be announced later where among other issues the position of Legal advisor which fell vacant after Muhammad Seleman was elected Football Association of Malawi (FAM) executive member will be filled.
According to a statement released by the association on Monday 22 June 2020 signed by general secretary Williams Banda, the decision has been made following the resolutions agreed by SULOM executive committee at a meeting held on 20th of June in Blantyre.
The AGM will also give room for the elite league governing body to commerce a restructuring process to fit the strategic direction of football professionalism and commercialization, review the gate management and ticket selling process in line with COVID-19 preventive measures as well as embracing electronic ticketing (e-ticketing) and sensitize it’s stakeholders of corona virus.
The statement also says that SULOM will relocate to Chilomoni stadium (MDC stadium) with effective 1st July 2020.
The 2020 football season was expected to kick off in March 2020 at a time SULOM had not held it’s AGM to see how things transpired during the 2019 season and the way forward for the fourth coming season but the postponement has given the association room for an AGM as the new season is expected to kick off in August.
