Sven Vanderbroeck impressed with set-pieces improvement

The defending champions Simba Sports Club head coach, Sven Vanderbroeck admits that he is impressed with how his players are improving in using set pieces and dead balls unlike before.

Based on their last 3-0 win against Gwambina Football Club at Mkapa Stadium, as Simba Sports Club defender Sergie Pascal Wawa managed to score a free-kick outside of the 18 yards.

Sven Vanderbroeck says, “My players are getting better in all departments it is a good thing for the squad and I am more pleased with how they can win over dead balls, free kicks and fouls.

“Wawa scored one goal from a foul kick outside 18 yards, he is a good taker and it is good for us, because before it was hard to score from fouls.

We failed to convert many fouls in our previous matches this season, this is the first time and I’m hoping to be the first of many to come.”

Sven Vanderbroeck also praises Luis Miquissone for setting up an assist to Meddie Kagera goal from the corner kick.

Simba Sports Club has 10 points from their four matches and thus stands at second place behind Azam Football Club.
