Tanzania reopens Colleges as COVID-19 figures drop

President of Tanzania has today, May 21, 2020, announced the return of the University students to colleges as the COVID-19 numbers in respective facilities drop significantly.

Speaking at the State House in Dodoma during the swearing of government officials Magufuli said university students should resume studies on June 1.

“With the fall in COVID-19 cases, we have decided that universities should reopen on June 1, 2020,” said Magufuli. He added that the relevant ministry should make the necessary arrangements within the nine days so that when students return, they should have all of the requirements they deserve including loans to the beneficiaries.

On the same, he announced that the Advanced Level students who are preparing for their examinations this year will also reopen on June 1, 2020.

“For other secondary and primary school learners, we need time to see the trend of the pandemic,” said Dr Magufuli.
