TAWIRI gets new CEO


Dr John Pombe Magufuli has appointed Dr Eblate Mjingo as the new CEO of TAWIRI (Tanzania wildlife research institute) replacing Dr Simon Mduma who has recently retired.

Before his appointment, Dr Mjingo was head of the wildlife health department and laboratory.

TAWIRI is a parastatal organization under the ministry of natural resources and tourism in Tanzania responsible for conducting and coordinating wildlife research in the country. Its headquarters are located in Njiro, Arusha.
