The parents of a private journalist from Tanzanian print media, Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL), Azory Ngwanda who was kidnapped by unknown people have pleaded with president Magufuli to assign investigators to help trace whether their son is alive or dead.

Azory, whose working station was in Pwani, was kidnapped by the unknown culprits on the 21st November 2018.

Speaking at a press conference at Msimba village in Kigoma, Azory’s mother, Eva Mpulumba (85) confessed that their son was the pillar of the family especially in domestic needs like food and treatment expenses.

“We’re now living a hopeless life since the disappearance of our son. We have no support… we don’t know whether he’s alive or dead… our appeal to the president is to let us trace whether he is alive or dead,” Eva pleaded.

Azory’s young brother, John Ngwanda said that they decided to speak to the press after realizing that it has been more than one and a half years since his disappearance and there has not been any information since.
