1998 – Rwanda protested a Congo crackdown on ethnic Tutsis and charged that Kabila was arming Rwandan Hutus to put down a Tutsi-led revolt along the border.
2000 – In Congo, a Russian-made Antonov crashed on approach to Tshikapa and 27 people were killed.
