Tigers football club has had a successful trip to the northern region as they managed to collect six points.
The Kanjedza based side defeated Chitipa united on Saturday courtesy of a Kondwani Chilembwe strike. 24 hours later, the team collected maximum points as they won by the same goal margin through a Tony Mbulu strike.
Speaking in an interview coach for the side Gerald Phiri said it was a successful trip.
“Am happy for the boys as we managed to win all our games during the weekend. All I can say is it wasn’t easy as the two teams also played well.
” Normally as Tigers we struggle when playing away and the kind of performance displayed should give the boys confidence. We will try to finish in the top 8 so that come next year we play in the Airtel top 8 cup”, Phiri said.
Tigers follows defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets to be the second team to go to the northern region and return with six points.
Tigers is on position 9 with 29 points from 23 games in the standings of the TNM super league.
