As the TNM Super League ended and that The Super League of Malawi SULOM opened the players transfer market starting from 15 January 17 to 18 January 2019, giving a chance to teams to trade players and coaches in readiness for the forthcoming football season.
This means that teams have to let go of the players they feel will not be used and bring on board players they feel will help them to win trophies next season.
Speaking on the issue, Football Association Transfer Marketing Manager, Casper Jangale edged clubs to follow proper procedures when selling and buying players to avoid misunderstandings that come in when teams try to do the short cuts.
‘’ we would like to ask teams to follow proper procedures when they want to trade players and that they let FAM know of the transfer in good time so that the players get cleared in good time before the transfer window closes”, said Jangale.
Already rumors are that the Central Bankers, Silver strikers are to engage the services of Gerald Phiri and Elia Kananji to their technical panel. The Sky Blue men are also looking for the services of Rafick Namwera from Mighty Wanderers, Sherif Shamama from Karonga United and Francis Mkonda of Masters FC.
Nyasa Big Bullets, are rumoured to be looking for the services of coaches such as Meke Mwase, Peter Mponda, Enos Chatama as well as Patrick Mabedi after the contract of their expatriate coach Calisto Pasuwa ended last year. Their city rivals Mighty Wanderers are chasing the signature of Peter Katsonga from Tigers FC and Stain Davie from TN Stars to replace the departed Yamikani Cheaster, Joseph Kamwendo and the retired Essau Kanyenda.
The civil servants, Civil Sporting Club are said to have roped in George Nyirenda, Timothy Chitedze, Mussa Manyenje, Precious Msosa and Simeon Singa while Masters FC are demanding 5 million kwacha to let go of Francis Mkonda to any team wanting him.
