Malawi national football team captain Christopher John Banda says his move to South Africa National First Division (NFD) side TS Sporting football club can opened doors for him to play in the county’s top league, Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Banda made the remarks after some soccer analysis described him as a player not worthy of playing in the lower division league in South Africa but according to the former Blue Eagles midfielder currently on loan at UD Songo of Mozambique, he is optimistic the move once finalised will open doors for greatness.
“With how I play football, people might say I am not supposed to play in the lower division league of South Africa but I feel it can give me an opportunity for me to play in the PSL as teams can easily monitor me while I am there,” he said.
Banda has been on loan to different clubs in the Mozambique premier league from his parent club Blue Eagles since 2016. He has been wanted by TS Sporting which needed the midfielder to join the club at the start of the 2020/21 season but negotiations are still between his current club UD songo and Blue Eagles over his loan move.
