Be Forward Wanderers football club defeated Kamuzu Barracks 1-0 to remain top of the TNM super league at the start of the second round.
From kick off the soldiers were solid at the back as they denied the Lali Lubani boys scoring chances.
Midway the first half, the Chiwoko based soldiers came close to scoring through Manase Chiyesa but Nenani Juwaya saved the visitors.
In the second half, both sides played a conscious game not to concede a goal.
With five minutes to end the match, Babatunde Adepoju scored for Wanderers from a penalty after he was fouled.
After the match, the 2018 FISD cup winners coach Bob Mpinganjira said
“We did not play our usual game but am happy that in the end we managed to collect maximum points. The win will help us to gain momentum as we try to win the league”.
On the other hand Kamuzu Barracks assistant coach Ted Kalinda said the pitch had a hand to the loss.
“We didn’t expect to loss but that happens in the game of football. We need to go back to our drawing board and prepare for our next assignments”, he said.
