After failing to impress capital city giants Silver Strikers football club, the gods have smiled for seasonal coach Abasi Makawa as he has agreed to join Central region football association premier division side Ntcheu strikers formerly known as Lake valley football club as head coach.
Makawa made a name for himself as one of the coaches who was able to take charge of the super league when he helped EPAC football club not to be relegated in the elite league after joining from the central region football association league in 2014 and joined Silver Strikers during the second round of the 2019 TNM super league where he failed to meet the targets he was given.
The former Silver Strikers coach then joined Lake Valley in 2016 after EPAC owner Mr Josaya decided to pull out from playing in the country’s elite league before he joined Masters Security football club in 2018 and has confirmed to have reached an agreement with the lower division side.
“We have finalised everything that was needed between them as a club and before I take charge as their new head coach. Once the coronavirus pandemic is over and we are allowed to play football you will see me with the side.
“I was with the club in 2016 from division one where I helped the club earn promotion in the premier division of the central region football association league. I also won a number of cups like the district presidential cup until Leo Mpulula took over from me as I was going to join Masters Security. So if we continue working hand in hand with the officials of the team like the way we used to do, it will be easy for us to reach greater heights,” he said.
Makawa has the Calsberg Cup to his name which he won as head coach with Masters Security in 2018 and twice guided the club in Confederate of Africa (caf) confederations cup in 2018 and in 2019 before the team was relegated in the super league last year.
