Wildlife for dinner in 23 regions

Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) has officially announced the launch of butcheries in 23 regions of the nation’s mainland that will be allowed to sell wildlife steak.

This is a result of President Magufuli’s instructions early this year while on his tour in Rukwa where he said that the citizens are given a chance to preserve the wildlife in an organized manner but also be allowed to start butchers of said wildlife.

The secretary to the ministry of natural resources, Dr Aloyce K Nzuki said that 23 regions will start enjoying this privilege, except Songwe, Rukwa and Mara where a better way of doing so is still being searched because of the difficulties that these regions have brought forth with the project.

Some of the regions that will start include Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Tanga, pwani, Singida, Dodoma, Tabora, Katavi, Kigoma, Shinyanga, Geita, Kagera, Mwanza, Ruvuma, Manyara, Arusha and Kilimanjaro.
