Wolves close in on European football

English Premier League (EPL) side Wolves is still fighting to seal a place in next year’s UEFA Europa League as they won 2-0 against Crystal Palace at Molineux Stadium on Monday.

On paper, Wolves were favourites to win the match and indeed they did as expected when they scored in each half through Podence and Castrol to put three points in the bag and increase their chances of playing in the Europa League next season.

With a single game to finish the 2019/20 season, Wolves is on 6th position with 59 points and will fight for positions with Tottenham Hotspur and Sheffield United.

In another match on Monday, Everton returned to winning ways when they defeated Sheffield United at the Bramall Lane. With the current form of the home side, no one gave Everton a chance to win against Sheffield who are fighting for a European spot in the Europa League for next season but a first-half goal from Richarlison was enough for them to collect maximum points.

Sheffield United is on position 8 with 54 points while Everton is on 11th position with 49 points.

At Falmer Stadium, Brighton and Newcastle United shared points as it ended goalless the entire 90 minutes.
