Civil Sporting club defender Emmanuel Zoya has decided to quit active football and venture into coaching after he has been included in the clubs technical panel.
Zoya who rejoined the civil servants in 2019 after spending two seasons with TNM super league champions Nyasa Big Bullets football club did not enjoy much game time during the 2019 season. He passed the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) C coaching course in December last year.
The defender well known for his long throw in’s said he has come up with the decision to pave way for others to showcase their skills.
Civil Sporting club general secretary Ronald Chiwawula has confirmed including the former player in their technical panel for next season.
“Zoya has been our player for a long time and he has been loyal to the team. For that reason we have decided to include him in the servant’s technical panel for next season”, said Chiwawula.
Emmanuel Zoya becomes the second player to announce his retirement after the 2019 season following Be Forward Wanderers midfielder Joseph Kamwendo.
